There’s really no way to pin down the Aussie environment. From the lush tropical rainforests of Queensland to the outback deserts of central Australia, you couldn’t find a place more diverse in natural beauty. This natural beauty is a part of the national identity of Australia, and people the world over come to see it. National parks are a way of protecting the environment, as well as providing people with easy access and information on Australia’s natural wonders.
Here you’ll find some of the world’s most magnificent scenery, as well as a diversity of plant and animal life that is second to none. On the east coast, heavy rainfall and a tropical climate mean that rainforests abound. Further inland are the flat expanses of the Aussie desert. Somewhere in between, there’s the bushland which contains various animals and plants found nowhere else. Apart from this, many national parks also contain historical buildings and relics of the man made past from times before protection of the natural environment was considered important.
There are endless activities and guided tours throughout the country, from picnics to week long bushwalks. Ever popular activities include swimming, camping, bike riding and watching for birds and animals. Whether you’re after adventure or just a picnic, Australia’s national parks have something to offer you.
