The good old Aussie Pub has long been an icon in the land down under, and it doesn’t look like changing any time soon! With an annual beer consumption that is four times greater than any other nation, Australian’s have partying down to a fine art. From the very old historic pubs of the outback to the chic new nightclubs of capital cities, there’s no place like Australia for a ‘real good time’.
You never know what you’re going to find in an outback drinking hole, with much of the country’s history contained in the very walls of the pubs themselves, or at least on them. One still has a mark half way up the wall from the floods that came through Gascoyne Junction in 1980. And what is affectionately known as ‘The Stump’ is a Victorian pub that still has not been finished since being built in the early eighteen hundreds, thus the upstairs floorboards have stumps growing from them. You might even by lucky enough to share a drink with a ghost in one of the outback’s haunted hotels!
The club scene is not too shabby either, with some of the world’s foremost night spots located in Australia’s capital cities. Anything you fancy is here, from the loud and rowdy to the chic and elegant. There’s not much history here, but there’s a lot of dancing, high spirits and intermingling going on. So head towards the bright lights and hobnob in style at one of Australia’s hottest clubs!
